Google is the Goliath of search engines, and thousands and thousands of people worldwide go to it for info- the breaking news and the latest trends, observes Joseph Verrico. However, sometimes people may not get the info they’re looking for.
As Joseph notes, Google has developed a novel way of notifying surfers that the info they want has no reliable sources. It’s adding a “no reliable sources” tag to some search engine results.
According to Joseph, the new prompt aims at minimizing misinformation, protecting searchers from using or spreading half-baked info. Joseph quotes Google about the main purpose of this prompt,” we’ve trained our systems to detect when a topic is rapidly evolving, and a range of sources hasn’t yet weighed in. We’ll now show a notice indicating that it may be best to check back later when more information from a wider range of sources might be available.”
Joseph Verrico summarizes more benefits of this new tag on search engine results for surfers:
